WEDDINGS
Weddings Are My Specialty
Weddings are some of my favorite events to DJ. I love bringing people of all ages together—from toddlers to grandparents—to celebrate and dance the night away. Unlike many other DJ services, I offer a flat rate, so there’s no need to worry about hourly fees if your party runs late. Let’s keep the celebration going as long as you want.
What I Provide
I bring everything needed for great sound and a smooth experience: high-quality music systems, wireless microphones, and clear, professional announcements when needed. Before your big day, I meet with you to talk through the music, the vibe you're aiming for, and all the details that matter. If there's a song you want that I don’t have, I’ll track it down. I also offer custom edits—cutting verses, creating medleys, and adding fade-ins or fade-outs to make your music fit your moments perfectly.
More Than Just a DJ
With over 14 years of experience DJing weddings, I’ve picked up a lot of insight into the flow of the day. I always tell my couples: use me as a resource! I’m happy to help with anything from timeline questions to layout suggestions. My goal is to make your wedding not only sound amazing—but run smoothly, too.
Lighting & Visuals
I offer a wide range of lighting options—from elegant uplighting to party-style LED and laser lights that transform your dance floor into a mini nightclub. Extras like bubble, snow, haze, and fog machines are available as well. Need visuals? I’ve got a 1080p HD projector with a 6x6 ft screen and a 60” flatscreen TV for slideshows, videos, or presentations.
After-Parties & Silent Disco
Many venues have early sound cutoffs around 10 PM—but your party doesn’t have to stop there. I can help you plan an after-party at a second location and have even DJ’d on party buses between venues. I also offer a full silent disco setup, so the music can keep going with zero noise complaints.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Booking & Planning
How do we book you for our wedding?
Start by reaching out with your date, venue, and a few details about your event. I’ll confirm availability, send over a quote, and walk you through package options. To lock in your date, a signed agreement and deposit are required.
How far in advance should we book?
Most couples book 9–18 months in advance, especially for peak season dates (Saturdays during the summer, palindrome days like 6/26, 7/27, 8/28, Holiday weekends). However, I often get bookings within 3-6 months of the wedding. If your date is sooner, still reach out—last-minute availability does happen.
What is required to reserve our date?
A signed contract and a non-refundable deposit (typically 50%) secure your date. The remaining balance is usually due by the start of the wedding, and I will send out a friendly reminder 2–4 weeks before the wedding.
Can we meet before booking?
Absolutely. We can schedule a phone call or video chat to make sure we’re a good fit and go over your vision.
Music & Personalization
Can we choose the music?
Yes—this is your big day. I typically ask for a must-play list, a do-not-play list, and a play-if-possible playlist. They can be as detailed as you like.
I’ve done weddings were the couple have given me zero musical input, and I’ve done the opposite, where they were very specific about what they wanted and when. Most weddings fall somewhere in between. Usually, couples just send me a link their playlists on Spotify or Apple Music. It’s usually easier for them, and it points me to right version of the song.
During the planning process I’ll find out how much freedom you want me to have to just read the room and keep the energy right and the party going. Most of the time couples want me to just play the must-plays and work in the play-if-possible songs, if they make sense. It’s ultimately up to you.
Do you take guest requests?
Yes, unless you prefer otherwise. I’ll always prioritize your preferences and avoid anything on your “do not play” list.
Do you help with song selections (first dance, etc.)?
Definitely. I can suggest songs for your first dance, parent dances, ceremony moments, and more based on your vibe.
Can you mix different genres?
Of course. Weddings usually span multiple generations and tastes—I’m experienced in blending styles smoothly. The more genres, the more fun for me.
Can you edit songs for us?
Absolutely. I’m very well versed in making seamless edits to songs. I’ve cut out verses, shortened songs, made medleys. I’ve made all kinds of edits for couples in the past.
Equipment & Setup
What equipment do you provide?
I bring professional sound systems, wireless microphones, DJ equipment, tables, and dance floor lighting. Additional upgrades like uplighting and battery powered speakers are also available. The only thing you have to worry about providing is a floor, and cover for rain and shade if the event takes place entirely outside.
Do you have backup equipment?
Yes—backup gear is always on hand in case of technical issues.
How much space and power do you need?
Typically about 12ft of table space and access to a standard power outlet. My DJ table is about 4ft and the speaker stands take up a few feet each. I’ll coordinate with your venue to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Ceremony & Reception
Do you provide music for the ceremony?
Yes. I can handle ceremony audio, including prelude/guest arrival, processional/recessional music and microphones for officiants and vows.
Will you act as the MC?
Yes—I handle announcements, introductions, and keep the timeline flowing without being over-the-top. I’m not someone who needs to be on the mic, but I am completely comfortable on it.
Do you help create a timeline?
Absolutely. I work with you (and your planner, if you have one) to build a smooth, stress-free timeline for the reception.
How do you keep the dance floor full?
Reading the crowd, adjusting in real time, and balancing your must-plays with proven dance tracks.
Logistics
When do you arrive and set up?
Typically 2–3 hours before start time to ensure everything is ready well in advance.
Do you travel?
Yes—travel within a certain area may be included, with additional fees for longer distances.
What do you wear?
Professional attire appropriate to your event (usually dress clothes and tie).
Pricing & Policies
How much do you charge?
Pricing depends on coverage time, equipment needs, and add-ons. I provide clear, upfront packages with no hidden fees.
Do you offer packages?
Yes—most couples choose bundled packages that include ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception services.
What is your cancellation policy?
The deposit is non-refundable if canceled within 90 days of the event, but I’ll do my best to work with you in case of rescheduling.
Final Details
When do we finalize everything?
About 2–4 weeks before the wedding, we’ll have a final planning meeting to confirm timeline, music, and details.
What if something changes last minute?
I stay flexible and adapt quickly. One thing that I bring with me is all my experience from over the years. So I know how to calmly react if something doesn’t go as planned.
I can also root out potential issues during the planning process, offer suggestions on changes to make to make things smoother, anticipate any issues, and have backup and contingency plans already in place and ready to go.
One thing I always want people to consider is that everyone is a professional until something goes wrong, then you find out who the real pros are. Your wedding day isn’t the day you want to find out.
TESTIMONIALS
Initially, my husband and I wanted to have our first dance to “Maps” by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. We were originally going to dance to the original rock version. Then, out of nowhere, Jesse emailed us this gorgeous acoustic rendition of the song that I had never heard before. We loved it so much, we made it the music our bridal party would walk to. It was a huge hit and I owe that to Jesse. We were also interested in a Sufjan Stevens song, but told Jesse we were worried about a particular verse in the song being inappropriate. Next thing I know, and without further information, Jesse emails me the song, with said verse dubbed out! He was so proactive and helpful without being pushy.
My sister put together a slide show that we showed during dinner and Jesse brought the projector equipment for a small price and helped get that set up with out a problem.
Finally, after the wedding, I had a lot of people come to me asking for a CD of our reception/ceremony music. I remarked to Jesse that the music was a big hit, and he offered to make up a CD for us to burn and give out as gifts. He truly goes above and beyond.
I don’t regret hiring him for a second and feel like you can’t find a better DJ for the job. We planned the whole shindig ourselves and I felt blessed to have picked really great vendors who made the whole event run seamlessly.

Thank you you for making our dance party our favorite part of the whole day! Jesse killed it. Pretty sure there were moments where every single guest was getting down on the dance floor and you know it's a hit when my grandma is the last person standing out there. Many of our friends and family have told us it was the BEST wedding dance party they've experienced. So huge thanks to Jesse!!!
Jesse - Thanks for spinning the tunes at our wedding on Sunday. Everyone had a blast! The mix of pop and traditional Afghan music was awesome. Wish we would have had more time on the dance floor, but the gorge closes at 10.

My wife Lexie and I contacted PDX DJ's for their services for our wedding in September of 2023. We were told about them from a friend who works in the wedding industry and after a short discussion, we were eager to sign with them as our DJ for our wedding.
As the wedding date grew near, we were assigned a DJ. However, after a few hiccups & an explanation of our music preference, PDX DJs switched Jesse (also known as DJ Good Things) to be our DJ for the wedding. Lexie & I had the ability to meet with Jesse via Zoom to go over what we needed the day of the wedding in terms of processional, recessional, first dance, and so on. Jesse was extremely easy to get along with and understood exactly what we needed to make our day special.
As our wedding day arrived, Jesse did an excellent job with all our DJ needs. Jesse was extremely professional, on time, and efficient. Jesse was particularly great at keeping the reception party fun and energetic by mixing our songs in a way that kept everyone dancing and engaged.
I would recommend Jesse and to anyone who is looking for wedding DJ services. He was super easy to work with provided an amazing experience on our wedding day.
